Mary Kom Opening Day (1st Friday) Box Office Collections

Mary Kom opened with a decent business on its first day. the film collected 7.5 crores on its
opening day. The Priyanka Chopra film has been on of the most anticipated films of the year.
Being a biopic on the life of Mary Kom, the film was not expected to make a smashing opening
considering it is not regular commercial cinema.
The film showed a good response at the multiplexes, although the single screens remained
poor over the first day. Also since the film was a normal Friday release, the week day
collections are good. Mumbai, UP and Gujrat circuits. Mary Kom will surely benefit from the
fact that it is a solo release this week and that the tax exemption will prove fruitful for it.
Compared to other films with female leads, the collections of Mary Kom are better than Queen
and Heroine although lesser than Dirty Picture. Considering its genre, the film is not expected to have a massive opening weekend collection,
yet it will certainly make decent business over the weekend. Mary Kom has a good screen
count of around 3000 screens and the film should certainly make the most of it.

Six Life Lessons You Will Learn From ‘Mary Kom’

1. ‘Fight Like A GirlIs The Way To Go!
In a fight of strength and muscle, the weaker fighters have conventionally been told that they
fight like a girl’. The reference is to a popular belief that women cannot put up a tough fight
because they are weak. ‘Mary Komshuts down such arguments with an unarguably firm
conviction.

2. Strong Women Can Be Stunning Too!
It may be hard to believe that the hardcore woman, who rules every fight she gets into, can
also make your heat skip a beat with her beauty, butMary Kom ’ can help you believe it. The
woman drills fear into hearts of the viewers while she’s fighting in the ring. Yet somehow,
Mary Komas a white veiled bride is sure to make your heart skip a beat.

3. You Haven’t Lost Till You Quit Trying
The film’s music itself is enough to make you pick yourself up after a fall and push harder than
you did before. One of the greatest life lessons we learn fromMary Komis that winning isn’t
just about scoring the most points; it is also about getting up and going on

4. #BeingWoman Redefined!
Indian women battle stereotypes on a daily basis. It is said that women can only rise up to the
limiting glass ceiling, and sadly, most women find it difficult to break through. But that hasn’t
discouragedMary Komfrom making a mark in a male dominated field. ‘Mary Kombreaks
barriers on many levels.

5. Obstacles Cannot Stop The Determine
Fighting off social norms is no easy task, and Mary has emerged through multiple restrictive
social norms as well as disfavouring political conditions. Her story only proves that no
obstacle can hinder uncompromising determination

6. Perseverance Always Pays Off
Among the reasons behindMary Kom ’s incredible achievement is the fact that she gave it
everything she had. We’ve seen times when Mary is pulled down by situations and
commitments, but then she rises above it all. ‘Mary Komtrained and brought back every last
ounce of the spirit and physique she had as a world champion, only to immortalize her name
in the books of history.
Mary Kom ’, the film is about the Indian Boxer and Olympic Bronze medallist MC Mary Kom.
Depicting her life, struggles, family and her perseverance to be the bestPriyanka Chopra
stars as Mary Kom along with Darshan Kumaar, Sunil Thapa, Shishir Sharma and American
actor Zachary Coffin. Directed by Omung Kumar, ‘Mary Kom ’ is produced by Viacom18 Motion
Pictures & Sanjay Leela Bhansali . The film is scheduled for release on September 5, 2014.

Aamir’s PK Trends On Amul’s Creativity

Aamir Khan’s PK has created a huge stir since the launch of its first poster so much so that
Amul has already come out a communication on the film.
Amul as a brand is very creative and is known for their print ads since decades. Their creative
depicts current affairs, be it politics, sports, judiciary or Bollywood. However, what’s interesting here is that usually Amul incorporates their communication with
topical films post the release. But this time Amul has taken out a communication on PK post
the launch of the 1st poster itself.
With a lot of buzz around the posters and the release, PK is the most anticipated film of the

‘The Hobbit’ Fame Stunt Director Roped In For Hrithik’s ‘Mohenjo Daro’

Hollywood stunt sequences are always top notch and thus Bollywood has now hopped on to
roping in International stunt directors for their films. To pull off action sequences of high
magnitude, majority of film makers today hire International stunt directors.
While recently Andy Armstrong of The Amazing Spiderman fame was roped in to design the
action sequences for Hrithik Roshan ’s upcoming film Bang Bang, now the stunt director of
‘The HobbitGlenn Boswell, will be working on the actor’s next Mohenjo Daro. The stunt director who recently wrapped up working on the popular Hobbit series has been
pulled in by director Ashutosh Gowarikar for his period drama. Boswell has designed the
action sequences for epic action drama’s such as Matrix and subsequently of Wolverine and
Hobbit and it would certainly be exciting to see him work for this film.
Even though the film is a love story based in the Indus Valley civilization, the script consists
of some grave action sequences that impressed Boswell and thus he agreed to work on the
project.

MARUTI SUZUKI LAUNCH NEW CAR

The Maruti Ciaz, its maker believes, has what it takes to upset the likes of the new Honda
City. We drive it to find out if it lives up to the hype The new Maruti Ciaz is a big deal. Is it revolutionary, unique or even game changing? Maybe
not so much in the segment it operates in wherein you already have the likes of the new
Honda City and the Hyundai Verna but for Maruti Suzuki, the Ciaz is all this and more... Here's
why?
Now, this isn't a new segment for Maruti; it has had the SX4 in the past. But, even with its
large wheels and ground clearance, roomy interior and a big boot, the SX4 struggled. The
reason: perception. No one wanted a full-fledged C-Segment car from a maker of small,
affordable hatchbacks and compact sedans. But now with the Maruti Ciaz, Maruti finally has a
product to draw you and me away from the Honda Citys and Hyundai Vernas of the world. This
should be interesting. This perception change can only happen with upmarket, elegant exterior styling. The good
news for Maruti fans is, the Ciaz most certainly looks like an expensive car. The large head
lamps, the in-your-face chrome grille and the stylised bumper give the Maruti Ciaz an air of
richness. The profile dominated by the strong shoulder line that runs from the front fender all
the way into the tail lamp along with those nice looking 16 inch wheels lend the Maruti Ciaz
an elegant but youthful stance. The blacked out B-pillar helps, as does the stretched feel for
the panels. At the rear, the tail lamps are clearly inspired by the new Honda City, but the Maruti still
manages to look more rounded. The rear bumper, like the one at the front, is well styled and
lends the Ciaz a hint of aggression. The chrome strip on the boot lid further enhances the
sedan's appeal.
